Automobile manufacturers and suppliers are confronted with new challenges: Electro-mobility calls new competitors onto the scene. Digitalization is transforming vehicles into "mobile devices" in the truest sense of the word, in which software becomes a differentiating competitive factor. And at the same time, increased product compliance demands fundamental comprehensibility and traceability to vehicles and components throughout the entire lifecycle.
The ability to keep pace with the speed of these changes is decisive for long-term market success. Our thesis: Only by adapting one's process and IT competences to the change and taking the path towards the integrated, data-driven automobile company can one stand up to the competition. The automotive industry must accordingly invest more in its IT competences – in this connection, the themes of data-driven engineering and above all data governance, cyber-security and process automation play a central role.
A look at the procedural models in the software industry shows how important the ability is to make fact-based decisions that are based on a uniform and rapidly accessible database during the entire product lifecycle. Automobile companies should also benefit from this. In addition, they need a consistent, tool-based process set-up with a high degree of automation. This enables high quality and speed and ensures the necessary transparency with regard to compliance requirements.
In our MHPDeepDive "Automotive industry: Data-driven and competitive", we will highlight the conditions and advantages of the data-driven development and management along the product lifecycle. Project managers, supervisors and decision-makers for the theme of the data-driven company / data-driven engineering will get to know an agile and target-oriented procedural model on the basis of two scenarios (autonomous driving and cyber-security) – from practice for practice.
What awaits you in our MHPDeepDive:
- We will outline a procedural model for data-driven product development along the product lifecycle.
- We will illustrate the procedure using the examples of autonomous driving and cyber-security.
- You will find out about new processes, methods and tools for the automotive industry.
