AGVs, drones and robots – When we think of a smart factory, we first think of the spectacular technological innovations. These are, of course, important and make a significant contribution to the digitalization and automation of processes on the shop floor. However, in order to really create a smart factory, much more is needed: A holistic view is decisive. And not just for production alone. This means: Top floor and shop floor must move closer together.
This succeeds best if top management assumes the role of pace-setter for the digital transformation and considers the theme of the smart factory across all levels. With these five Cs, the successful transformation to a sustainable smart factory can be achieved.
