THE FUTURE PROSPECTS OF THE INDUSTRY AND THE CHALLENGES OF OUR CUSTOMERS ARE THE FOCUS OF MHP.
Together, we search for answers and provide solutions for the future. Central topics are "Digitalization" and "Digital Transformation".
Digitalization ensures a breathtaking speed in business: Innovations are rapidly accelerating, product lifecycles are becoming shorter and shorter. New players enter the market, competition is increasing. And: There are enormous, extremely complex data volumes available. Lots of challenges for companies. Those who want to keep up with this new dynamic need an agile organization.
Analytics & BIG DATA
The volume of data is increasing rapidly with the digitalization of our world. There is huge potential here for business. The companies are indeed aware of the benefits, some are also implementing BIG DATA projects. However, a comprehensive strategy is missing in most cases. This is a shortcoming. Because only those who are really in control of the data can shape the future.
Companies are operating in an increasingly complex world – their own organization is also becoming more complex. The use of a business architecture helps gain a holistic view of the company. This is also an absolute must in order to respond quickly to new challenges.
Digitalization, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0 – no matter how the current development is described, which aspect is highlighted in particular, one thing is always key: The importance of technology is increasing dramatically, IT is no longer a means or a tool, but is increasingly becoming the purpose or the objective. The role of the IT department is thus also changing. And the CIO must control this transformation.
Clouds are a crucial technological requirement for successful digitalization. Because only clouds enable the provision of infrastructure, platform, and application services beyond company boundaries. However, the integration of clouds also creates new challenges for companies – security in particular is a key issue.
The mobile future is networked, vehicles are connected in the future. This opens up numerous new opportunities for OEMs – they are not only much closer to the driver than ever before, they can also expand their business model. But this also demands something from the OEMs: Mindsets and working methods must be more flexible, new skills and competences acquired, and processes integrated across all departments. A paradigm shift in the automotive industry is imminent.
The discerning clients of today expect a great deal from companies. And they can choose from a huge variety of offers. Companies which offer their customers a unique customer experience gain an edge over the competition. In order for this to happen, everything must be oriented to the customer – business processes, organization, and IT systems.
The economy is currently in the midst of radical changes – mainly attributable to digitalization. In the digitalized world we make purchases online on all continents, we stay in contact with other people via Messenger, and we book our taxis using our smartphones. Business models are changing rapidly. Companies have to undergo constant transformation if they do not want to lose the connection.
Future Retail / Digital Service
In the context of digitalization it is not only vehicles that are connected. Digital channels are also playing an increasingly important role in retail. More and more customers are not only obtaining information online. They are also using the net more and more frequently to configure vehicles and order new and used cars. Manufacturers and dealers must adapt to this changing situation. Many new opportunities emerge if they manage to adapt to these changes.
Digitalization and networking of industry – Industry 4.0 – promises enormous potential. Companies automate and accelerate their processes, thus increasing their flexibility. In theory at least. Industry 4.0 scenarios are still rare in practice. This is mainly down to one reason: Companies find it difficult to find a direction or focus given the many opportunities.
In the course of the digital transformation it is not only products, processes, and business models that change. The working world also experiences a noticeable change – the need for well-qualified and creative employees with an understanding of technology continues to increase. The HR departments are therefore also facing new challenges. But digitalization also helps them to find, acquire, and retain talented professionals.
Efficient product development is becoming more and more important for companies. [Why?] Companies need to know exactly what requirements customers demand, and then develop products specific to these requirements. For this to succeed comprehensive and also streamlined management of engineering data – i.e. of information and structures – is required. Only this way is it possible to master engineering and product complexity.
The Paris Climate Agreement has been adopted. The objectives have been set. By 2040 no more fossil fuels are to be burned and global warming is to be contained at 1.5°C. 195 countries approved this agreement. The examination of the effects on supplier networks and manufacturers is a central innovation topic at MHP.
