On 20.09.2019, an SAP CodeJam event took place at MHP in Ludwigsburg, on the topic "Custom Code Migration in S/4 HANA".
Search for a storage position. Scan. Remove goods. Scan. Verify. Search for a storage position.
An error-prone and inefficient order picking process that is common practice in many companies. This process can be optimized by Pick-by-Voice systems which have been on the market for a few years. Indeed, these Pick-by-Voice systems improve the order picking process. However, they are limited in customer benefit due to fixed voice commands, high initial investment as well as time-consuming system integration. Thanks to the innovative product idea "Pick-by-MHP", MHP Management- und IT Beratung GmbH addresses this potential for improvement.
On 27 June, the current mayor Werner Spec officially started our pilot project MHPArenaParking as part of the "Testing ground for Parking4.0@LB". The goals for this project are the reduction of parking-space search traffic, less congestion, reduced stress levels and an improvement in the overall situation around large events. Specifically, this means that visitors to the MHP Arena event location will in future be able to reserve their parking space in the underground car-park already before the event, either online or by mobile device – and thus enjoy a more relaxing journey.
Towards the end of 2018, ARAL published the study on the "Gas station of the future in the city" with a view to 2040. The study was conducted by the DLR Institute of Transport Research and predicts mobility trends in urban environments. It includes a number of interesting development forecasts and ideas.
Autonomous and/or electric vehicles are often cited as an effective remedy against traffic jams and congestion in towns and cities, or even against global warming. I shared my thoughts on this in a commentary in the Automobilindustrie magazine 4/19, on which I elaborate here.
The Morgenstadt Werkstatt of the Fraunhofer IAO was again a very successful event for our city of tomorrow (as the name itself makes clear ;) ). During his walking tour, Minister Strobl showed great interest in the MHPParkingSpotter, our solution for detecting (free) parking spaces in the city, i.e. OnStreet Parking. Since the end of June, the device has been installed at the Marktplatz (market square) in Stuttgart and has been trained to detect vehicles. At present, the parking areas are occupied by the Christmas Market, so the ParkingSpotter won't be able to resume its work until January. Of particular relevance for Ludwigsburg's Mayor Werner Spec and also the Minister of the Interior: This solution, which in its current constellation has 9 parking spaces in view, should cost less than 200 EUR. It is installed on existing lamp-posts and, provided that the desired accuracy is achieved (my specification: 99.997%, i.e. four errors per year), will then be installed in Eberhardstrasse. It can then be indicated on a display directly at the entrance to the MIK (Museum im Kornhaus) whether it is worthwhile searching for a parking space, and - so I hope - the cars of drivers looking for somewhere to park can be reduced by 70-80%.
Our cooperation with Rinspeed has again borne new and very tasty fruit :)
The "microSNAP" will be presented at CES 2019 in Las Vegas and can already be admired in advance in the video.
Already in 2018, the SNAP, which offers practically endless opportunities for use, was presented. A mixture of mobility and property, driven by software intelligence from MHP and SAP. I had reported, see SNAP.
The SNAP has now been reduced to the size of a Renault Twizy, and has become the microSNAP.

Our new MHPStudy "Online Car Sales 2018" with the provocative title "From Sales to Expulsion? Opportunities and need for action for car sales on the Internet" is online.
Almost everyone orders shoes, books or electronic products online. Why not your next car too? This question was the foundation stone for the study on Online Car Sales 2018, which we organized together with the Central Association of German Motor-Vehicle trades (ZDK) and the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Umwelt (HfWU) (university for business and environmental studies).
