Cutting Operating Costs the Smart Way

Times of crisis are always also cost-sensitive times. No wonder – after all, companies are hardly able to estimate how turnover will develop. Caution is thus advised in order to ensure economic stability. Also in the current situation, all departments are required to reduce their costs at short notice. This also applies for IT departments. In view of the increasing digitalization, however, the scope for relieving budgets is limited. But: In our experience, the design of licenses for SAP technologies and the associated software maintenance and operating costs can almost always be optimized – precisely in view of an approaching S/4-HANA transformation. With direct economic effects and without impairing the performance. And: Times of crisis are always also times that provide an opportunity for long-term further development. So IT should now take the opportunity in order to make the SAP landscape fit for the future.

For the optimization of your costs structure, it is important to first examine the situation closely: What is really required, and where are applications being paid for that are no longer used? In view of the frequently complex landscapes, this is by no means trivial. If there is clarity here, it is not only possible to take counter-measures quickly. The transparency can also help to realign the systems. Here, we are of the opinion that the future belongs to the cloud – because it offers economic and technological advantages.

In our MHPTuesdayTalk, we want to exchange ideas and opinions with you directly: about how, if applicable, licensing, operating and maintenance costs can be adjusted, what an optimum SAP system landscape of the future with great flexibility will look like, and how the realignment can be successful. Furthermore, we will examine why the role of Application Management Services (AMS) is important, and what we understand by Managed Excellence. We will also answer your questions, discuss your evaluations and analyze your experiences. We are convinced: An open debate with people who are interested in the same topics and face the same challenges is extremely valuable.

In our MHPTuesdayTalk:

  • Our moderators will introduce themselves
  • Our moderators will present the topic, provide impulses and highlight the best practices
  • You can exchange ideas and opinions in our MHPCommunity
