Off to the subscription economy!
Nearly every favorite of private and institutional investors has one thing in common: they sell their customers access to content and services. Disney+ and Netflix sell access to films and series, Salesforce and ServiceNow to business software, and Cloudflare and Snowflake to IT infrastructure. Investors love these subscription models because they guarantee fairly reliable sales and also achieve high growth potential, e.g. because the entry barriers for new customers are low and the offers can be continually adapted to the requirements based on a large volume of data - along with pricing.
Due to the numerous advantages, more and more established companies are also discovering the subscription model. The first automobile manufacturers are therefore offering, for example, e-mobility charging infrastructure or subscriptions for vehicles. We are also convinced that the future belongs to the subscription economy! However, implementing the new type of monetization in the company is not entirely trivial.
