Application lifecycle management with the SAP Solution Manager 7.1
The SAP Solution Manager has been available since 2006. Users have outstanding support, at their fingertips, with regard to total application lifecycle management thanks to its tools, templates and services – from the implementation of new solutions to monitoring running systems. At least in theory!
In practice, users solely avail of the standard features for necessary maintenance and upgrades or use the Incident Management, Change Request Management, Test Management or System Monitoring. The additional options available with this comprehensive SAP application and the added value that can be achieved, as a result, are not fully known to users.
The SAP Solution Manager 7.1 contains, in particular, many revisions and improvements to the previously available functions in addition to some new features. These are now technically mature and consistently mapped. Particularly interesting are the Application Incident Management and Change Request Management scenarios as well as the Solution Documentation Assistant.
