SAP meets lean production

The challenge

Lean management production companies are nowadays subject to increasing competitive pressure. This can, amongst other things, be ascribed to globalisation and thus to the increasing number of international competitors. Companies have to constantly find ways to reduce their costs and increase productivitiy in order to be able to produce at preferably low and thus competitive prices. The leading companies have for years been relying on lean production methods to cope with these challenges.

ERP system

ERP systems, such as SAP, are indispensible for efficiently realising comprehensive planning and controlling tasks and for dealing with the associated data volumes. For this reason, a functioning cooperation between SAP and production is a prerequisite for future corporate succcess. What is more prevalent, however, is that both disciplines work in parallel instead of being closely intertwined.

Target groups

Specialists or managers from the production, logistics, SCM or IT areas of a production company. The automotive, machinery and plant engineering and eletrotechnology/electronics sectors come to mind here.
