How to reduce manual Monetization Processes and develop new Business Models

To express it a little more philosophically: Possession used to be what counts, now it's about use. From a business perspective, this means a change in the business model. More and more companies are selling services instead of products. A subscription culture is developing, in which Netflix, Spotify and SAP S/4HANA from the cloud are just the beginning. This benefits the customers, because they only pay for the actual use and are considerably more flexible. And the companies benefit too. For with services, it is easier to gain new customers, and new sources of turnover can be successively developed – not least by means of cooperation in a strong network of partners. The challenge in all of this is: The customer relationship must be correctly recorded, services must be invoiced on a performance basis, and a large number of small transactions must be processed.

This can hardly be done manually: The effort required is enormous, so the service thus becomes uneconomical, and scaling of the business is barely possible – and always involves the hiring of new employees. Furthermore, a manual process is prone to errors and unsuitable for expanding the service portfolio or introducing dynamic pricing models. In our view there is therefore no way to bypass the digitalization of monetization. In an example scenario devised by us, the costs for invoicing and accounts receivable management could be lowered from 85 Euro on average to less than one Euro.

In our MHPTuesdayTalk, we want to talk to you about the possibilities of the digitalization of monetization: about which strategies and operational aspects must be taken into consideration, which technologies are required and how you can find new business cases for additional income. For this purpose, we will present to you our tried-and-tested method. We will also answer your questions, discuss your evaluations, and analyze your experiences. We are convinced: An open debate with people who are interested in the same topics and face the same challenges is extremely valuable.

In our MHPTuesdayTalk:

  • Our moderators will introduce themselves.
  • Our moderators will present the topic, provide impulses, and highlight the best practices.
  • You can exchange ideas and opinions in our MHPCommunity.
