Blockchain and the Future of Mobility

09/12/2019 MHPDeepDive

A joint study of MHP and Riddle&Code

On the path to being an industry interconnected more than ever before, the mobility sector is currently experiencing rapid development. The mobility industry encapsulates this trend with the acronym "CASE": Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric. Yet, CASE incorporates not only a large number of visionary and innovative approaches, but also a number of challenges that are still in large part unsolved. In contrast, blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) represent a new approach that introduces highly interesting solution approaches and new paradigms in the area. MHP has authored a whitepaper on this topic together with blockchain specialists Riddle&Code from Vienna. This will provide real-world and meaningful DLT use cases, such as the Car Wallet.

In the MHPDeepDive "Blockchain and the Future of Mobility," we will give you insight into the results of the study and show you which aspects of the mobility of tomorrow DLTs offer technically or conceptually groundbreaking solution approaches.

This MHPDeepDive will be concerned with the following topics, among others:

  • Which challenges do mobility companies face relating to CASE
  • Which of these challenges can feasibly be solved using blockchain and/or DLT
  • What added value real-world blockchain/DLT use cases provide, such as the CarWallet
  • What blockchain/DLT projects are currently ongoing in the mobility industry
  • What the current challenges are relating to the use of blockchain/DLT
