Cell production using an algorithm for production control
If a manufacturing company starts to produce new products or additional variants in this way, complex new work or conversion work in hardware and software (e.g. operating equipment, production facilities, logistics control etc.) is usually necessary. The same applies if considerably greater output quantities (> 20 %) are targeted. From the perspective of cycle time, the previous approaches in production planning and logistics based on them lead to rigid framework conditions. As a result, in event of very different product versions the cycle time spread increases and there is only a small degree of flexibility.
In our MHPDeepDive, we will show you how flexible an FTF-based production and logistics environment controlled by an algorithm can be. Short-term changes in the production sequence can also be implemented in this way, as can lower throughput times for less complex product variants.
This MHPDeepDive will be concerned with the following themes, among others:
- Increasing variant diversity leads to greater effort in adjoining areas
- Market fluctuations and changing demand require flexibility on the part of companies
