Shortly before the start of the Beko BBL playoffs in 2016 MHP extends its commitment as name sponsor of MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg by three years until summer 2019. RIESEN are to start again as MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg in the Basketball Bundesliga. MHP and MHP RIESEN announced the extension of the contract during a press conference at the start of the playoffs.
Dr.-Ing. Ralf Hofmann (Chairman of the Board of MHP) emphasized the positive joint development: "Our common objective was and is to successfully further develop basketball in Ludwigsburg and to position the MHP brand as an "excellent team player". We want to continue this success story together over the next three years".
Since 2012, MHP – with its head office in Ludwigsburg - has been a sponsor of the RIESEN basketball club and also the name sponsor of the home ground, the MHPArena. In 2013, MHP increased its involvement and since then has become a name sponsor of the Ludwigsburg premier league basketball club. The three years together are a success story, also due to the same number of playoffs in this period.
Alexander Reil, 1st Chairman of BG Ludwigsburg (MHP RIESEN) highlighted the importance of the commitment of MHP and is delighted with the continuation of the shared journey: "With MHP on our side we would like to continue the excellent collaboration in the coming years. For both sides it is a genuine partnership and together we were able to pave the way for the positive development of basketball in Ludwigsburg. This should also be done together in the future in order to be able to be successful in an increasingly competitive environment."
MHP will remain the namesake of the club for the 2016/2017, 2017/2018, and 2018/2019 seasons. MHP will also be represented on the jersey, the LED advertising banners, the court, and on the LED advertising on the basket arm which was newly introduced for the upcoming season.
